on my credit report a business has me as past due on dish network account an never had an account with them?

i applied for a job they checked my credit report and there was a dish network account that stated i had not paid and they sent it to a collection agency i never opened an account with that company. i tried to contact dish network and explain that i never had an account with them but they were little of help.who or how can i solve this mistake and get that taken off of my credit report?
