Has anyone ever had major problems with Dish Network?

I changed from one Satellite Company to Dish Network and had nothing, but problems, first the DVR stopped working, then we lost all signal. They wanted to charge us $99.- for a technician to come out, we ended up shipping the receiver back to them, we were without television for a week. Now we have no signal again and I cancelled my subscription with them, they said they will charge my debit card over 200.- for the cancellation. Anyone have any idea how to deal with these idiots, let me know please.

How to get different local channels with Dish Network?

Can I turn my dish towards the direction of the city I want to get channels from, or something like that? The city I get local channels from now is literally the same distance away from the city I want.
Before I had dish network I had Charter Cable and I got both the city I want now and the city I have now.
If I lived 30 miles north I’d have the city I wanted.
