do I need to call dish network to activate a receiver?

Which is the better company for me, Dish Network or DirecTV?

I have dish network and i have to be buying batteries every week because i keep getting the low battery signal and there are times when the remote won’t even change the channel. i change all the batteries when i buy new ones but the same problem, i tried duracell and energizer and nothing they just keep eating up the battery like crazy, i was just wondering if this is happening to anyone else? thanks

If you have a Dish (Dish Network) can you record 1 station and watch another?

Has anyone found a way to do this? If you have a regular ground wire antennae, you can record on your VCR through one stations, then change to TV view and watch a different station. It seems there should be some way to do this with DISH – maybe a converter box or something?
