Will Dish Network Discount my service if I Try to Cancel?

I am under contract (6 months left) and I was wondering will Dish Network discount my bill if I threaten to cancel now or even after the contract ends? I did this with earthlink and they gave me a $5 discount. I don’t know if Dish will be lenient though.

On dish network, I want to record a show that is on one channel but want to change and watch another channel?

How can you do that. For example, I want to watch something on channel 435, but change to channel 178 while that is recording but my dvr won’t let me do that.

If I try it says, recording will be stopped if you want to change… or something like that. How do I fix this, is there another mode that I can go to.

Please help. Step by step instructions are appreciated. Thanks.
